Applicable to Entuity v19.0 upwards
To create a credential:
- Click Main Menu and then Administration.
- Click Asset Credential Management to open the Asset Credential Management page.
- Click Create Credential via the button at the top of the page, or via the Overflow Menu.
- The Create Credential form will open on the right of the window.
- Enter a Credential Name and Description for the credential. The credential name must be unique - you will be asked to enter another name if a duplicate name is found. Quote marks and non-ASCII characters are supported.
- Specify the Credential Type from the dropdown field. The fields available in the Attributes section below this choice will depend on the credential type that you select. The available credential types are as follows:
- SNMP v2c
- SNMP v1
- SNMP v1/v2
- SNMP v3
- SSH
- User and Password (not SSH)
- Config Management
- Amazon Web Services
- Cisco Meraki API Key
- Dell EMC Navisec
- Microsoft Azure
SNMP v2c:
- Community String
- Write Community String
SNMP v1:
- Community String
- Write Community String
SNMP v1/v2:
- Community String
- Write Community String
SNMP v3:
- Username
- Authentication Type (None, MD5, SHA, SHA224, SHA256, SHA384, or SHA512)
- Authentication Password
- Encryption Type (None, TRIPLE_DES, AES, AES192, AES256) (Note, from Entuity v22.0 GA upwards, Triple DES (3-DES) is no longer supported as an encryption method.)

SSH:

Entuity supports a range of encryption types for SSH, including AES128 and AES256.
User and Password (not SSH):

- Access Method, either SSH (default), Telnet or (from Entuity v21.0 P02 upwards) WinRM.
- Access Port (if SSH is selected and the port is left empty, the port will default to 22. If Telnet is selected and the port is left empty, the port will default to 23)

From Entuity v20.0 upwards, an API key or SSH key can support a maximum of 4096 characters. Once you have specified your credential's details, click Done in the top right of the form, otherwise click Cancel.
To edit a credential:
- Select the credential that you want to edit, and click Edit Credential from the button at the top of the page or via the right click Context Menu or the Overflow Menu.
- The Edit Credential form will open on the right of the page. In this form, you can specify the same details as in the Create Credential form above, although you cannot change the Credential Type.
- To save the changes you have made, click Done in the top right of the form, otherwise click Cancel.
To remove a credential:
Entuity recommends that only unused credentials should be removed from the system.
- Select the credential that you want to remove, and click Remove Credential from the button at the top of the page or via the right click Context Menu or the Overflow Menu.
- A deletion confirmation window will open.
