In this example, we will scale an Entuity installation up to support 800 OSs per Entuity polling server. For help and information on amending Entuity server configuration components (including other entries that might be changed depending on the desired specifications), please see this article. Note, changing a setting without the appropriate hardware components can seriously impact server performance.
When installing Entuity, it is essential to ensure that the server is sized correctly, and that the software is configured correctly to suit the server specifications. You will need to make configuration changes in order to match the software to the server specifications.
For our example, our AWS-based polling server is used exclusively for server OS monitoring and has the following specifications:
- c6i.4xLarge virtual machine
- 16 cores
- 32GB RAM
Amend the default configuration of the Entuity server through entuity_home\etc\entuity.cfg with the following entries:
[DataStream]
OperatingSystemStreamCollector.threadpoolsize=200
[CollectionEngine]
connectionLimit=250
