Introduction:

From Entuity v22.0 upwards, you can run commands over SSH via a configuration task and/or step in the Entuity UI.

The Run Commands Over SSH (Cisco) configuration task is a system configuration task that enables you to run commands interactively line by line over SSH for Cisco devices. These commands are stored as a string parameter.

This configuration task and step will only work if the SSH access method is enabled in the credential set that is applied to the device.

To add a 'Run Commands Over SSH (Cisco)' step to a configuration task:

1. From the Main Menu, click Administration and then Configuration Management.
2. Under the Configuration Management page, navigate to the Tasks tab.
3. When creating/editing a configuration management task, click Add Steps.
4. From the list of steps, select Run Commands Over SSH (Cisco), and click Done.
   
   

To edit (via copying) the 'Run Commands Over SSH (Cisco)' configuration task:

The 'Run Commands Over SSH (Cisco)' configuration task is a system configuration task, and therefore cannot be edited. However, you can create a copy of it and then edit that duplicate, because the duplicate will be considered a custom task.

1. From the Main Menu, click Administration and then Configuration Management.
2. Under the Configuration Management page, navigate to the Tasks tab.
3. From the table, select the Run Commands Over SSH (Cisco) task and click Copy at the top of the tab (or via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu).
4. The copy will appear in the table.  Select the copy and click Edit (via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu).
5. From the Edit Task form, make your desired changes to the task and click Done to save, otherwise click Cancel.
