Introduction:
From Entuity v22.0 upwards, you can run commands over SSH via a configuration task and/or step in the Entuity UI.
The Run Commands Over SSH (Cisco) configuration task is a system configuration task that enables you to run commands interactively line by line over SSH for Cisco devices. These commands are stored as a string parameter.
This configuration task and step will only work if the SSH access method is enabled in the credential set that is applied to the device.

To add a 'Run Commands Over SSH (Cisco)' step to a configuration task:
- From the Main Menu, click Administration and then Configuration Management.
- Under the Configuration Management page, navigate to the Tasks tab.
- When creating/editing a configuration management task, click Add Steps.
- From the list of steps, select Run Commands Over SSH (Cisco), and click Done.
To edit (via copying) the 'Run Commands Over SSH (Cisco)' configuration task:
The 'Run Commands Over SSH (Cisco)' configuration task is a system configuration task, and therefore cannot be edited. However, you can create a copy of it and then edit that duplicate, because the duplicate will be considered a custom task.
- From the Main Menu, click Administration and then Configuration Management.
- Under the Configuration Management page, navigate to the Tasks tab.
- From the table, select the Run Commands Over SSH (Cisco) task and click Copy at the top of the tab (or via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu).
- The copy will appear in the table. Select the copy and click Edit (via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu).
- From the Edit Task form, make your desired changes to the task and click Done to save, otherwise click Cancel.
