To create a hardware monitoring user account
Configuration details to specify when adding the asset to Entuity
Entuity supports hardware monitoring on Cisco UCS systems managed by Cisco UCS Manager through the XML API. Entuity discovers the whole chassis, blades, rack servers, fabric interconnects, and all internal/associated components of the system. To do so, the Entuity collector uses port 443 (which must be open bidirectionally between the Entuity server/agent and the Cisco UCS Manager management system) and a monitoring user account.
Supported devices
- Cisco UCS Chassis
- Cisco UCS B-Series Servers
- Cisco UCS C-Series Servers
- Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnects
To create a hardware monitoring user account:
- Log into the Cisco UCS Manager web interface with administrator-level credentials and navigate to the Admin page.
- Expand All > Communication Management > Communication Services.
- In the CIM-XML area, select the Enabled radio button, and save your changes.
- Navigate to the User Management tab, right-click User Services, and select Create User.
- Enter a username and password for the user account, and under Roles, select Operations.
- Select OK and click Save Changes.

- In the Asset Details section, enter the Cisco UCS Manager management system IP address in the Polled Name/IP Address field.
- In the Hardware Monitoring section, select either Cisco UCS Manager (XML) or, if you don't want to monitor internal components of blades/servers, Cisco UCS Manager Chassis (XML) from the Connection Method drop-down field.
- On the Credential form (accessed by clicking the Credential field in the Hardware Monitoring section), enter the newly created user account name and password in the appropriate fields.
