To access the Manual Topology page
To configure the columns in the table
You can view your configured physical connections on the Manual Topology page.
The Manual Topology page displays a summary of each defined configured custom connection. On this page, you can view existing connections and their definitions, as well as add, edit and delete connections.
To access the Manual Topology page:
- In the Main Menu, click Administration.
- Click Manual Topology.
To configure the columns in the table:
- To sort the columns in ascending or descending order, click on the column heading of your choice.
- You can also increase or decrease the width of columns by dragging the column dividers left and right.
- To configure the columns that appear in this table, right click on any of the column headings and click the Configure Columns link that appears.
The available columns are as follows:
Column Name | Column Description |

Name | display name of the custom connection. |
From Interface | interface on the device that is the source of the connection. |
From Device | device that is the source of the connection. |
To Interface | interface on the device that is the destination of the connection. |
To Device | device that is the destination of the connection. |
Description | description of the connection, e.g. describing its purpose. |
Created At | date and time the connection was created. |
Created By | user who created the connection. |
Last Updated By | user who most recently updated the connection. |
Last Updated At | date and time of the last change to the connection configuration. |
Server | Entuity server on which the connection is defined. |
To add a custom connection:
There are two ways to add a custom connection:
- via the Manual Topology page.
- via a map.
To add a custom connection via the Manual Topology page:
- Click Add in the bottom left of the browser.
- The Custom Connection window will open.
- Enter a display name for the custom connection in the Name field.
- Enter a description for the connection in the Description field.
- Use the Browse functionality to complete the (source) From Device and From Interface and the (destination) To Device and To Interface fields. Clicking Browse next to any of these fields will open the Device Browser window (if the device has already been selected, this will open the Interface selection window). Search for your desired device or interface and click Select, otherwise click Cancel.
- Note, interface selection is optional.
- Once you have defined your parameters, click OK to save, otherwise click Cancel.
To add a custom connection via a map:
- Navigate to the Topological Map containing the two devices between which you want to a connection.
- Select both devices using the ctrl key.
- Right click on either of the selected devices to open the Context Menu. Click Create Custom Connection.
- The Custom Connection window will open.
- Enter a display name for the custom connection in the Name field.
- Enter a description for the connection in the Description field.
- Use the Browse functionality to complete the (source) From Interface and the (destination) To Interface fields. Note, the From Device and To Device fields are already populated. Clicking Browse next to any of these fields will open the Device Browser window (if the device has already been selected, this will open the Interface selection window). Search for your desired device or interface and click Select, otherwise click Cancel.
- Note, interface selection is optional.
- Once you have defined your parameters, click OK to save, otherwise click Cancel.
To edit a custom connection:
- On the Manual Topology page, select the connection that you want to edit and click Edit in the bottom left of the browser.
- This will open the Custom Connection window. Make the changes you want to make and click OK to save the changes, otherwise click Cancel.
To delete a custom connection:
- On the Manual Topology page, select the connection that you want to delete and click Delete in the bottom left of the browser.
- A confirmation dialog will open asking you to confirm your choice.
