How do I instrument Azure VMs with any guest OS?

These instructions apply to instrumenting Azure VMs across all guest OSs.

1. In Microsoft Azure, select the VM that you want to instrument.
2. Under Monitoring, select Diagnostics settings.
3. Under the Status field, click On. Ensure the basic settings are enabled.
