Applicable to ENA v18.0 P04 upwards
Introduction:
From ENA v18.0 P04 upwards, support is provided for the Cisco Digital Network Architecture Center (DNAC) device type. With this support, Entuity can monitor Software Defined Access (SDA) data from the DNAC. You can enable and configure events from DNAC devices via webhook, giving you alerts on performance issues in the DNAC. Please see the Entuity RESTful API guide for help and information on managing DNAC webhooks, and listing, enabling and disabling webhook events on a DNAC.
Entuity also supports monitoring of the Identity Services Engine (ISE), which is a key component within the DNAC. Entuity collects syslog messages from the ISE that are turned into events and incidents in Entuity.
When you add a device with the Device Type of Cisco DNA Center, you will be prompted to enter the Connection Username, Connection Password and Connection URL for the DNAC. These credentials are then used by the Entuity virtualization process to poll for the following SDA data from the DNAC:
- site statistics.
- health statistics.
This data will be retrieved via RESTful API calls at default 5 minute intervals. You can override this default in the settings part of entuity.cfg. The DNAC's SDA health statistics will be stored in the DNAC database, along with the time they were last polled, and whether the poll was successful.
From Entuity v20.0 P02 upwards, support is provided for configuration management of Cisco DNA Centers. This can be enabled when adding a Cisco DNAC, and enables you to run the configuration management task 'Check DNAC Backup History for Failures' that checks for the results of up to the last 20 backups and will launch an event depending on the result of the most recent backup.
