Applicable to Entuity v21.0 P03 upwards
To adjust the rank of a profile
To create a profile:
- Navigate to the Profiles tab of the View Management page. From the Server/Configuration Set dropdown field in the top left, specify the server or configuration set in which you wish to create the profile.
- Click Create Profile at the top of the page (or via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu).
- The New Profile form will open on the right of the window.
- Specify a Profile Name and select the Views to which this profile will be applied.
- Specify the OS Services that are utilized by this profile.
- Click Done to save your changes, otherwise click Cancel.
- If saved, the new profile will appear in the Profiles table.
Once you have created you can specify whether to enable profiles on OS Service rules. Please see this article for help and information on this.
To edit a profile:
- Navigate to the Profiles tab of the View Management page. From the Server/Configuration Set dropdown field in the top left, specify the server or configuration set that contains the profile you wish to edit.
- Select the profile you wish to edit and click Edit Profile at the top of the page (or via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu).
- The Edit Profile form will open on the right of the page, and contains the same fields as when creating a profile (see above).
- Click Done in the top right to save your edits, otherwise click Cancel.
To delete a profile:
- Navigate to the Profiles tab of the View Management page. From the Server/Configuration Set dropdown field in the top left, specify the server or configuration set that contains the profile you wish to delete.
- Select the profile you wish to delete and click Delete profile at the top of the page (or via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu).
- A deletion confirmation window will open.
Deleting profiles does not impact numbering of rank order:
If you delete a profile, then a gap will appear in the Rank column.
E.g., if you have profiles ranked 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and you delete the profile that is ranked 4, then the table will list the profiles as 1, 2, 3, 5.
This does not affect the ranking order, however, because 5 is still higher than 3. If/when you go to adjust the rank of profiles (see section below), the numbering will readjust itself and change to 1, 2, 3, 4.
To adjust the rank of a profile:
You can rank profiles, meaning that profiles with a higher rank can overrank profiles with a lower rank. As of Entuity v21.0 P03 this has no effect on profiles, because ranking does not apply to OS Service rules. However, ranking of profiles will be applicable to functionality that will be released in future Entuity versions and patches.
- Navigate to the Profiles tab of the View Management page. From the Server/Configuration Set dropdown field in the top left, specify the server or configuration set for which you wish to adjust profile ranks.
- You do not need to select a profile, and can simply click Adjust Ranks at the top of the page (or via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu).
- The Adjust Rank form will open on the right of the page.
- Drag the profiles into your preferred order of rank. Profiles with a higher rank will have precedence over profiles with a lower rank.
- Click Done to save your changes, otherwise click Cancel.
