To view user defined attributes in a custom dashboard or dashlet

To view the user defined attributes in the UI:

The user defined attributes do not appear directly on the device itself, but instead on an associated object of the device.

1. Navigate to the Associations dashboard of the device.
2. Under the 'Show associations of type' menu, select the Context Type specified for the associated object, e.g. Ping Only Device. The association will then be displayed in the table.
3. Select the associated object and then navigate to its Attributes dashboard, which will display its attributes.

To view user defined attributes in a custom dashboard or dashlet:

When creating a custom dashboard, you might want to include a dashlet (e.g. a Table dashlet) that displays data for the user defined attribute.

In the case of a Table dashlet, in the Include Objects of Type dropdown field, find and select the name given for the associated object. Then when you click the + button in the Columns field, you can select from the user defined attributes.

If you are adding a Key Info dashlet, for example, then click Add Attribute, and find and select the attribute.
