Applicable to Entuity v21.0 upwards
Introduction:
From the DHCP Servers tab on the IP Address Management page, you can view, add, edit and delete the DHCP servers that can provide scopes to be used by the networks added under the Networks tab.
To view DHCP servers:
Click the DHCP Servers tab on the IP Address Management page.
This page contains two tables:
- DHCP Servers on the left
- DHCP Scopes on the right
DHCP Servers:
This table lists the DHCP servers that you have added, and details the following:
Column | Description |
---|---|
Name | user-specified name of the DHCP server. |
IP Address | IP address of the DHCP server. |
Zone | zone of the DHCP server, if applicable. This column is hidden if there are no zones. |
Type | type of DHCP server, either 'Windows (WinRM)' or 'ISC (SSH)'. |
Status | current status of the connection to the server, e.g. 'OK', 'Invalid Credentials', 'No Response'. |
Last Scanned | timestamp of the last scan on this server. |
Scopes | number of scopes on this DHCP server. |
DHCP Scopes:
This table is populated when you select one or more DHCP servers in the DHCP Servers table. This table contains a list of scopes on the selected DHCP server(s), and contains the following information for each scope:
Column | Description |
---|---|
Name | name of IP range, if set. |
IP Range | IP range of the scope. |
Active | if the IP range is active, either 'Yes' or 'No'. |
To add a DHCP server:

- The Add DHCP Server form will open on the right of the page.
- Specify a Name for the DHCP server.

- Specify the Zone used to connect to the DHCP server. This field is hidden if there are no zones used in your Entuity instance.
- Specify the IP Address of the DHCP server.
- if the address contains a colon ':', IPv6 validation will be used.
- if the address only contains numbers and periods '0-9', '.', IPv4 validation will be used.
- otherwise, hostname validation will be used.
- Click Credential to open the Credential form. A Windows (WinRM) server will require username and password, and an ISC (SSH) server will require SSH. For help on adding credentials in Entuity, please see this article.
- Specify the Port to connect to the DHCP server, or leave as default.
- To save your changes, click Done in the top right of the form, otherwise click Cancel. Once you have saved your changes, the DHCP server will appear in the DHCP Servers table.
To edit a DHCP server:
- From the DHCP Servers tab of the IP Address Management page, click Edit DHCP Server at the top of the page (or via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu).
- The Edit DHCP Server form will open on the right, which contains the same fields as the Add DHCP Server form above. Make your changes as required and click Done in the top right to save your changes, otherwise click Cancel.
To delete a DHCP server:
- From the DHCP Servers tab of the IP Address Management page, click Delete DHCP Server at the top of the page (or via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu).
- A deletion confirmation dialog will open, asking you to confirm your decision.
To add a network from a scope:
You can select a scope from the DHCP Scopes table under the DHCP Servers tab, and use it to create a network that will appear in the Network Hierarchies tree and Networks table under the Networks tab.
Select the scope you wish to add as a network and click Add Network from Scope at the top of the page (or via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu). Please see this article for further help and information on adding a network from a DHCP scope.
