To schedule a configuration management task
To suspend or resume a schedule
You can create, edit, delete, suspend and resume scheduled jobs under the Schedules tab on the Configuration Management page.
To schedule a configuration management task:
- In the Main Menu, click Administration and then click Configuration Management.
- This will open the Device Configuration Management page. Click the Schedules tab, and then click +New at the top of the page or via the Overflow Menu.
- The Schedule Task form will open on the right of the page. Select the task you want to schedule and click Done in the top right.
- An Edit Schedule: [task] form will then open, where you can edit the schedule.
- Enter a description for the task in the Description field.
- If applicable, select the Server from the dropdown field.
- Specify the View with which the target device is associated on your network.
- Select the target Device or port against which you want to run the task. From Entuity v20.0 upwards, only the devices that are licensed for configuration management will appear in this list.
- Click the Schedule field to open the Schedule form, from which you can choose to run a Predefined Schedule or a New Schedule, and define the schedule. Specify when to start the schedule, and specify its Recurrence.
- Click OK to save the schedule, otherwise click Cancel.
To view schedules:
- Navigate to the Schedules tab under the Device Configuration Management page.
- The table lists all your schedules, detailing the following information:
Column Name Column Description Task task schedule name. Description description. Schedule details of the schedule. Server name of the Entuity server on which the schedule is defined. Target target device against which the task is scheduled. Last Run Time date and time the schedule was last run. Next Run Time date and time the job is next scheduled to run. Last Run Status status of the last execution - Completed, Running, or Suspended.
To edit a schedule:
- Navigate to the Schedules tab under the Device Configuration Management page.
- Select your preferred schedule to edit and click Edit at the top of the page, or via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu.
- The Schedule Task form will open on the right of the page, where you can edit the schedule.
- Make the changes you want to make and click OK to save, otherwise click Cancel.
To suspend or resume a schedule:
- Navigate to the Schedules tab under the Device Configuration Management page.
- Select your preferred schedule to suspend/resume and click Suspend or Resume as appropriate at the top of the page, or via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu.
To delete a schedule:
- Navigate to the Schedules tab under the Device Configuration Management page.
- Select your preferred schedule to delete and click Delete as appropriate at the top of the page, or via the Overflow Menu or right-click Context Menu.
- A deletion confirmation window will appear. Click Yes.
Viewing an expired schedule:
When you view an schedule that has expired, a warning message will appear stating that the expired schedule cannot be edited. Click OK to close the message and view the schedule. You can view it, but the options will be grayed out.
