To add an Incidents Summary dashlet to a custom dashboard
To view further information about the incidents on the selected managed object
To configure the information that is displayed on the dashlet pie chart
Introduction:
The Incidents Summary dashlet displays a pie chart of the incidents by severity level on the selected managed object.
The Incidents Summary dashlet is applicable to any managed object on your network.
To add an Incidents Summary dashlet to a custom dashboard:
- When adding a dashlet to a new custom dashboard or editing an existing custom dashboard, follow the instructions for adding a dashlet, select Incidents Summary in the Select Dashlet Type, and click Next.
- The Create Dashlet form will slide in on the right.
Dashlet Settings
- Name - specify a name for your dashlet.
- Dashlet Source - choose the source of the data to be displayed in the dashlet.
- If you want this dashlet to source its data from the context of its parent dashboard, select Dashboard. You can see the context of the parent dashboard in the Dashboard Context field at the top of the form.
- If you want this dashlet to source its data from another dashlet in this current dashboard, select Dashlet.
- If you want this dashlet to source its data from a specific managed object on your network, select Fixed Object. You can then click Browse to an object to search for the managed object in Explorer, or drag into the box your desired managed object in from another browser window.
Incidents Type
- Incident Filter - from the dropdown field, specify whether to include All Incidents, or specify the incidents to include (Include Incidents) or exclude (Exclude Incidents) from the Incidents Summary pie chart dashlet.
Drilldown Behavior
- Redirect to Incidents Dashboard - specify the behavior that occurs when you click a slice of the Incidents Summary pie chart.
- If enabled, you will be redirected to the Incidents dashboard, the Incidents List dashlet of which will be filtered to the specific severity of the slice you selected, i.e. if you select the Critical slice of the Incidents Summary pie dashlet, you will be redirected to the Incidents dashboard and its Incidents List dashlet will be filtered to Critical incidents.
- if disabled, the context will remain on the current dashboard and - if available - any Incident List dashlet tables will be filtered to the specific severity of the slice you selected.
Pie Chart Settings
- Show Legend - specify if you want the chart legend to be displayed.
- Show Percentages - if the legend is enabled, specify if you want the legend to display percentages.
Advanced Settings
- Click the Advanced Settings field to open the Advanced Settings form.
- Hide Title Bar - specify whether you want to hide the title of the dashlet. If enabled, the dashlet's Overflow Menu will also be hidden
- Promote Menu Options - specify if you want to display the options that are in the dashlet's Overflow Menu in the overall dashboard's Overflow Menu.
- Auto Refresh - specify whether you want the dashlet to automatically refresh. By default this is set to On.
- Click Done in the top right of the form to save and return to the Create Dashlet form, otherwise click Cancel.

To view further information about the incidents on the selected managed object:
- Click any of the segments in the dashlet pie chart to open the Incidents dashboard for the selected object.
To configure the information that is displayed on the dashlet pie chart:
- Click on the incident severity levels in the legend to display or hide them in the dashlet pie chart as you want.
