Management Level
- In the Asset Category dropdown field, select Storage Device.
- Leave the Management Level set as Full (default).
- In the Port Management dropdown field, specify from All Ports, Management Port Only, or No Ports.

Monitoring
- From the Connection Method dropdown field, specify the connection method to use for monitoring the storage device. See the section earlier in this article regarding the installation of the appropriate tool for using Dell EMC VNX, VNXe or Unity storage devices. The options available will depend on the type of storage device that you are adding:
- EMC Data Domain - EMC Data Domain (SNMP)
- EMC VNX - Navisphere (naviseccli) or EMC VNX Control Station (SSH)
- EMC VNXe/Unity - EMC UEMCLI (uemcli)
- EMC Isilon - EMC Isilon (SSH), EMC Isilon (SNMP) or EMC Isilon (REST)
- HP Nimble - HP Nimble (REST) or HP Nimble (SSH)
- NetApp Filer - NetApp (REST) or NetApp (SNMP)
- Pure Storage - Pure Storage (REST)
-
Click the Credential field to go to the Credential form, where you can either search from a list of shared credential sets, or create a local credential. For more information on credentials, see this section.
Note, when adding a Dell EMC VNX or VNXe storage device, use the 'Dell EMC Navisec' credential type.
- Click Done on the Credential form to save your changes. Otherwise, click Cancel.
- Optionally specify the Connection Port if it differs from the default.
Agent Monitoring
From Entuity v23.0 upwards, this section is used for monitoring Server/Storage devices with an Entuity Agent. For more information on agent monitoring, see this section.
- Click the Agent field to go to the Select an agent form.
- From the Select an agent form, select the Entuity Agent that you want to monitor the device. The selected agent's name and ID are then displayed in the Agent field.

Note regarding adding VNX, VNXe or Unity storage devices:
To manage VNX storage devices, you must have Dell's Navisphere CLI tool installed before starting Entuity.
To manage VNXe or Unity storage devices, you must have Dell's Unisphere CLI tool installed before starting Entuity.
The command line name of the tools are naviseccli and uemcli. For Entuity to manage these devices, the Collection Engine must have access to the tool commands:
- On Linux, the tool must be installed locally in the root directory using .rpm files:
- /opt/Navisphere
- /opt/emc/uemcli
- On Windows, the default install locations are:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\EMC\Navisphere CLI
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell EMC\Unity\Unisphere CLI
Note regarding uemcli versions that work with supported Dell VNXe storage devices:
Applicable to Entuity v19.0 and Entuity v20.0 upwards
The following uemcli versions work with the EMC VNXe storage devices supported by Entuity:
- version 5.0.3.984728
- version 5.0.2.890972
Note, there are severe known issues with version 1.5.4.1.0027.
Note regarding adding Dell MD, HP StorageWorks EVA, or IBM DS or XIV storage devices:
Applicable to Entuity v21.0 P03 and v20.0 P08 upwards
The following devices require the following third-party binaries to be installed on the Entuity server (with the binaries in the path):
- Dell MD (CLI) - dellmdcli, uses SMcli.
- HP StorageWorks EVA (SSSU) - hpevacli, uses sssu.
- IBM DS (CLI) - ibmdscli, uses SMcli.
- IBM XIV (CLI) - ibmxivcli, uses xcli.
