To create a monitoring user account
Configuration details to specify when adding the asset to Entuity
Entuity supports hardware monitoring on IBM servers with Integrated Management Module (IMM) service processors through Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) queries using the CIM protocol. To do so, the Entuity collector uses port 5989 (which must be open bidirectionally between the Entuity server/agent and the server) and a monitoring user account.
Supported devices
- IBM x M3 series servers and earlier
- IBM X-Architecture Compute Nodes
To create a monitoring user account:
- Log into the IMM web-based user interface with administrator-level credentials, and navigate to IMM Management > Users.
- From the User Accounts tab, click Create User, and then set a username and password for the account.
- Click Next, and select Read-Only or Default Operator Group to create read-only permissions for the account.
- Navigate to IMM Management > Security > CIM Over HTTPS, and select the Enable CIM checkbox.
- Save your changes.
