To create a monitoring user account
Configuration details to specify when adding the asset to Entuity
Entuity supports hardware monitoring on IBM/Lenovo servers that have an IMM and Lenovo XClarity Controller Administrator management software installed through the REST API implementation. To do so, the Entuity collector uses port 443 (which must be open bidirectionally between the Entuity server/agent and the server) and a monitoring user account.
Supported devices
- Lenovo branded xSeries Servers
- IBM xSeries M4 and later Servers
- Lenovo ThinkSystems and ThinkServers
To create a monitoring user account:
- Log into the Lenovo XClarity Controller Administrator web interface as a Supervisor, and navigate to BMC Configuration > User/LDAP > Local User.
- Click Create.
- Enter the username, description, and password for the user account, and confirm the password.
- Select Read only as the authority level and save your changes.
- Navigate to BMC Configuration > Network > Service Enablement and Port Assignment.
- Verify that REST Over HTTPS is enabled on port 443.
- Save your changes.
