How do I configure the generation of port status events?

To enable or disable port status events on a port

In Entuity, by default, port status events are enabled for core ports and disabled for edge ports. A core port is a WAN, trunk or router port. All other ports are considered edge ports.

Port status events are as follows:

• Port Operationally Down.
• Port Operationally Down Cleared.

To enable or disable port status events on a port:

1. Navigate to and select the port for which you want to enable port status events, via the Explorer or on a dashboard.
2. Right click to open the port's Context Menu.
3. Click Polling, and then Status Events.
4. Click Enable or Disable as you wish. The Key Info dashlet on the port's Summary dashboard will be updated to reflect the change that you have made. The Ports (Port Summary) dashlet will also be updated on the Ports dashboard of the device that the port is on.
   
   

Note, from ENA v17.0 P08 upwards, both administrators and non-admin users can enable or disable port status events.
