The Service Summary dashlet lists the services on the selected View or Subview.
The Service Summary dashlet is only applicable to Views or Subviews. It is not applicable to any other data source (e.g. devices, services, components). By default, the table in this dashboard sorts by Service Name in ascending order.
To add a Service Summary dashlet to a custom dashboard:
- When adding a dashlet to a new custom dashboard or editing an existing custom dashboard, follow the instructions for adding a dashlet, select Service Summary in the Select Dashlet Type, and click Next.
- The Create Dashlet form will slide in on the right.
- Enter a name for your dashlet in the Name field.
- You can then choose the source of the data to be displayed in the dashlet.
The Service Summary dashlet can only display data where the source is a View or Subview.
- If you want this dashlet to source its data from the context of its parent dashboard, select Dashboard. You can see the context of the parent dashboard in the Dashboard Context field at the top of the form.
- If you want this dashlet to source its data from another dashlet in this current dashboard, select Dashlet.
- If you want this dashlet to source its data from a specific View/Subview on your network, select Fixed Object. You can then either click Browse to an object to search for the View/Subview in Explorer, or drag into the box your desired View/Subview in from another browser window.
- Click the Advanced Settings field to open the Advanced Settings form.
- Choose whether you want to hide the title of the dashlet in the Hide Title Bar field. If selected, the dashlet's Overflow Menu will also be hidden, but in the Promote Menu Options field you can then choose if you want to display the options in the dashlet's Overflow Menu in the overall dashboard's Overflow Menu.
- Choose whether you want the dashlet to automatically refresh in the Auto Refresh field. By default this is set to On.
- Click Done in the top right of the form to save and return to the Create Dashlet form, otherwise click Cancel.
- Click Done in the top right of the form, otherwise click Cancel.

The available columns are as follows:
Column Name | Column Description |

Icon | service's icon. |
Name | name of the service. |
Description | description of the service as entered when creating/editing the service. |
Service Status | service status, either Up, Degraded, Down, Unknown, or None. |
Status Cause | if the service status changes to Down, a cause will be provided. |
Last Item Change | last time the service status changed. |
24 Hour Availability (%) | the percentage of time the service was available. |
24 Hour Degraded (%) | the percentage of time the service was degraded. |
24 Hour Downtime (%) | the percentage of time the service was unavailable. |
24 Hour Unknown (%) | the percentage of time that the state of the service was unknown. |
To view further information on a service:
- Click on the name of a service in the list to open the Summary dashboard for the selected service.
To create a new service:
- Click Create Service in the top right of the dashlet, or via the dashlet's Overflow Menu.
- The Create Service form will slide in on the right. Please see here for help on creating a service.
To edit a service:
- Select the service you want to edit and click Edit Service via the right click context menu or the dashlet's Overflow Menu.
- The Edit Service form will slide in on the right. Make your desired edits to the service in the fields and click Done in the top right of the form to save your changes, otherwise click Cancel.
To delete a service:
- Select the service you want to delete and click Delete Service via the right click Context Menu or the dashlet's Overflow Menu. You can use the ctrl or shift buttons to select multiple services.
- A deletion confirmation window will appear. Click Yes to confirm the delete, otherwise click Cancel.
To add a service to another service:
From the Service Summary dashlet, you can add a service as a Sub-service to another service:
- Select the service you want to add to another service, and click Add to Service via the right click Context Menu or the dashlet's Overflow Menu. You cacn use the ctrl or shift buttons to select multiple services.
- The Target Service form will slide in on the right of the browser. Using the Explorer in this form, navigate to and select the service to which you want to add the selected service.
- Click Done in the top right of the form to save your change, otherwise click Cancel.
To add a service to a View:
- Select the service you want to add to a View and click Add to View via the right click Context Menu or the dashlet's Overflow Menu. You can use the ctrl or shift buttons to select multiple services.
- The Add to View form will slide in on the right. Using the Explorer in this form, navigate to and select the View to which you want to add the selected service.
- Click Done in the top right to save your change, otherwise click Cancel.
To remove a service from a View:
- Select the service you want to remove from a View and click Remove from View in the dashlet's Overflow Menu. You can use the ctrl or shift buttons to select multiple services.
- This will remove the service from the current View.
